IBM or I Bang Men?

“You have an IBM? That means you’re gay” said a sixth-grade Paul.

“Oh yeah, why?” questioned his confused friend.

“It stands for I Bang Men,” remarked the still sixth grade Paul. (On-lookers erupt in laughter.)

Immature? Offensive to people who are gays? Or is it instead funny? I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but Paul told me tonight that he used that line in middle school and everyone thought he was the funniest person on the planet.
